Desoxyn is pharmaceutical dextromethamphetamine prescribed for ADHD and rarely for severe obesity. It is significantly more potent and longer-lasting than amphetamine, with greater abuse and addiction potential. Methamphetamine is directly neurotoxic to dopamine and serotonin neurons, particularly at recreational doses. The dextro enantiomer is a stronger CNS stimulant than the levo form. Use carries extreme risks including addiction, cardiovascular complications, psychosis, and severe neurotoxicity with chronic use.
