Armodafinil

Armodafinil is a eugeroic substance of the benzhydryl class, consisting of the enantiopure (R)-enantiomer of the racemic mixture modafinil. Approved by the FDA in 2007, it is prescribed to treat excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work disorder. Compared to racemic modafinil, armodafinil is considered more potent and longer-acting. Its effects are primarily functional and wakefulness-promoting rather than overtly recreational.
