4-Methylmethylphenidate
4-Methylmethylphenidate is a stimulant research chemical structurally related to methylphenidate. It appeared briefly on the market in mid-2015 following bans on ethylphenidate and other phenidates. The substance is reported to be slightly less potent than methylphenidate, with relatively low efficacy at blocking dopamine reuptake despite high binding affinity. It has been described as producing functional stimulation with limited recreational effects and was investigated as a potential substitute treatment for stimulant abuse.
