Trazodón

Trazodone is an antidepressant of the serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) class, chemically classified as a triazolopyridine derivative. First approved by the FDA in 1981, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder. Trazodone is notable for its pronounced sedative and anxiolytic properties, which have led to widespread off-label use for insomnia and anxiety disorders. Its antidepressant efficacy is considered comparable to that of TCAs, SSRIs, and SNRIs.
