Meflokin

Mefloquine is an antimalarial medication with significant CNS effects. It can cause serious and potentially permanent neuropsychiatric side effects including anxiety, depression, hallucinations, psychosis, and suicidal ideation, occurring in approximately 1 in 10,000 users for prophylaxis. These effects may persist for months to years after discontinuation or be permanent. It is contraindicated in individuals with a history of psychiatric disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, or seizures. Not recommended for severe malaria.
