Lean

Lean, also called purple drank or sizzurp, is a non-standard mixture usually made from codeine and promethazine cough syrup. Codeine is an opioid that is partly converted to morphine, while promethazine adds sedative and anticholinergic effects; product strength and individual codeine metabolism can therefore make effects unusually unpredictable. The combination can cause profound drowsiness and respiratory depression, and mixing it with alcohol, benzodiazepines, other opioids, gabapentinoids, GHB/GBL, barbiturates, or other sedatives greatly increases overdose risk.
