What are 4-PrO-MET, 4-AcO-MET and 4-HO-MiPT?

They are synthetic tryptamines, from the same chemical family as psilocin, which is what mushrooms actually work through. Most of them are prodrugs: 4-PrO-MET and 4-AcO-MET are esters of 4-HO-MET and are expected to hydrolyse to it in the body, the same way psilocybin becomes psilocin, and 4-AcO-DMT is the acetylated form of psilocin itself. 4-HO-MiPT and 5-MeO-MiPT are the two that are active in their own right.

5-MeO-MiPT and 4-HO-MiPT are one prefix apart and their thresholds differ by a factor of ten. 15 mg of 4-HO-MiPT is a common to strong psychedelic dose; 15 mg of 5-MeO-MiPT is a heavy dose of a much more stimulating, much more body-loaded compound, known for tactile and sexual effects with comparatively few visuals. The names will not save you.

4-PrO-MET pellets vary
It is sold in Europe as pressed pellets labelled 15 to 20 mg, and user reports describe substantial variation between batches, with half a 15 mg pellet called mild by one person and quite strong by another. There is no human pharmacology data at all; the prodrug model rests on analogous animal work with 4-PrO-DMT. We would read it conservatively: treat 4-PrO-MET as roughly equipotent to 4-AcO-MET and somewhat less potent than 4-HO-MET, keep a first trial at or below 5 to 7 mg, and titrate from 2 to 3 mg if you have the scale for it.
Buy the scale before the reagent
These compounds are active in single milligrams, and the gap between a light and a strong dose of 4-PrO-MET is about 10 mg, less than half the weight of a grain of rice. A pocket scale reading to 0.1 g cannot see any of that, and eyeballing a pressed pellet of unknown fill is guessing. 4-PrO-MET does not appear once. The compound at the top of this page, the one people search for hardest, has never been published by a drug checking service, so everything anyone knows about its potency comes from user reports on pellets of unverified fill. Two samples came back as a cathinone instead of a tryptamine, which a reagent would have caught, and one carried a synthesis impurity.
What a reagent settles
Ehrlich reacts with indoles, and every compound on this page is an indole, so a purple result puts your sample in this family in about a minute. Hofmann then separates a tryptamine from an LSD analogue: non-lysergamide indoles go yellow-green, lysergamides deep blue. That pair is what rules out the substitutions that actually hurt, the NBOMe series, the DOx compounds and the cathinones in the table above, and it is the check worth running before anything else. For the specific tryptamine, that is a laboratory question.

Is 4-PrO-MET the same as 4-HO-MET?
No. It is the O-propionyl ester and is expected to hydrolyse to 4-HO-MET after ingestion. Effects are reported as similar with a slightly slower onset. Human data does not exist.
How long does 4-PrO-MET last?
Onset 20 minutes to an hour, peak 1 to 3 hours, total 4 to 6 hours.
Can a reagent confirm my pellet is 4-PrO-MET?
No. Reagents indicate that an indole is present. Separating the substituted tryptamines needs chromatography or mass spectrometry.
Is 4-AcO-DMT the same as psilocybin?
Not the same molecule, but a close parallel. It is acetylated psilocin, believed to act as a prodrug for psilocin, which is also what psilocybin converts to.
Why is 5-MeO-MiPT called moxy?
Common nickname, worth knowing precisely because it hides how different the dose range is from the 4-substituted tryptamines.
