Why are there so many Marvel pills?
This article is provided for informational and harm reduction purposes. It does not encourage the use of psychoactive substances and does not replace medical advice.
Because pill manufacturers are in a marketing race, that's all. Since late 2025 European drug checking services have published Marvel-branded tablets under at least 27 different character names, from Elektra and Daredevil to Nightcrawler, Sabretooth and Moon Knight, and 17 of those characters turn up exactly once in the published data. Whoever is pressing them is not making a pill, they are making a whole set.
What the labs have actually seen
56 tablets whose published logo name carries Marvel have come from European services between 28 October 2025 and 14 August 2026. They came from 13 different services in six countries: Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, Germany and England. Every one of them that returned a compound returned MDMA, with nothing else alongside it.
That is worth saying plainly, because it is the unusual part. A press this widely distributed would normally pick up adulterated copies somewhere along the way, and so far it has not been detected, though that is certain to happen sooner rather than later.

They run stronger than the pill next to them
The table below compares the 48 Marvel tablets that came back with an MDMA figure against every other MDMA tablet published in the same ten months.
| Group | Samples | Half came in above | Over 200 mg |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marvel series | 48 | 188 mg | 41% |
| Every other pill | 1,172 | 158 mg | 23% |
Half the Marvel tablets came in above 188 mg where half of everything else came in above 158, and four in ten crossed 200 mg against a bit over two in ten for the rest of the market. The full spread ran from 107 mg to 284 mg, so the range within the series is wider than the gap between the series and the market.
None of that describes the tablet in your hand. Every figure came from one tablet tested on its own, and two tablets from the same bag can differ.
One press, a name and a colour
The tablets are the same tablet. What changes between them is the colour and the character name stamped on one face, so nobody is cutting 27 dies here. They are running one press, swapping a name and changing the colouring, which is why the set can grow this fast: every name and colour pairing is a new pill to a buyer and almost no extra work to make. Red accounts for about a third of the photographed samples, with blue and green around a fifth each.
Pill stamps have always followed whatever is popular. The artists behind the Dutch Candy project, who spent years collecting tablets and photographing the stamps on them, found pills carrying 6ix9ine's face when the rapper peaked in 2019, COVID and vaccine designs through the pandemic, and Netflix-inspired stamps after that company changed its logo. One of them describes the market as "a race between producers all trying to tap into the zeitgeist". Marvel is what the zeitgeist currently is.
What is actually distinctive is the build. These are well-made tablets, and that construction is more of a signature than any character on the front. It is also the harder thing to copy, which is a reasonable explanation for why the series has stayed clean so far, though nobody has published one and we are reasoning rather than reporting. It will not hold. A design this visible gets copied, and sooner rather than later.
That is the practical point, and it is the reason to read any of this as background rather than as reassurance. The first counterfeit Marvel will be a Marvel by every visible measure, right down to the name on the face, and the only thing separating it from the press these results came from is what a test finds.

Why you will not find these in Dutch data
Not one of the 56 came from a Dutch service, and that is not an oversight. The Netherlands accounts for 16 records in the whole 9,319-sample database we track. DIMS tests more tablets than almost anyone in Europe, but it publishes a public warning when a result is dangerous, not when it is ordinary, which is why a Trimbos red alert makes the news when a pill turns out to contain PMMA.
By that standard a Marvel tablet is unremarkable: it contains the MDMA it claims to contain. A strong pill is not automatically the dangerous one, and a system built to warn about the second will stay quiet about the first. Useful to know if you are checking a logo against Dutch sources and finding nothing, because nothing is not the same as clean.
Testing Marvel pills
Marquis and Mecke indicate MDMA, Simon’s separates MDMA from MDA, and Robadope rules out the 2C-x compounds and amphetamines. That answers the first question, which is whether the tablet is what the set says it is. Given how many of these run above 200 mg, the second question is how much, and for that you want a TLC testing card, which separates the sample and estimates how much of each part is there. Fentanyl needs a strip, because no reagent covers it.

Questions?
How many Marvel pills are there?
At least 27 characters appear in published European lab results. Collectors who document pill stamps track far more designs than ever reach a laboratory, and new ones keep arriving, so any count is a floor rather than a total.
Are Marvel pills stronger than normal?
In the published data, yes. Half came in above 188 mg against 158 mg for other pills tested in the same months, and 41% were over 200 mg. That is a statement about tablets other people had tested.
Has anything bad been found in one?
Not in the published European results so far. All 48 that returned a figure were MDMA and nothing else. That covers 48 tablets, not the press.
Does the character tell me the dose?
No. The spread inside the series, 107 to 284 mg, is wider than the difference between the series and the rest of the market.
Why do Dutch services not list them?
Dutch drug checking publishes warnings for dangerous results rather than a report for every tablet. An ordinary MDMA pill, however strong, does not meet that bar.
